Magicycle CRUISER Review: E-Bike Overview
The Magicycle CRUISER is an exciting addition to the range of affordable fat tire e-bikes currently on the market. It’s a bike that, while certainly not revolutionary, is smartly designed and crafted to deliver solid value.
The CRUISER has a 750W rear hub motor putting out 86Nm of torque, 52V 15Ah lithium-ion battery that recharges in 3-5 hours, and the bike delivers a 55-mile range (if you’re looking for even longer range, check out the new Magicycle Ocelot Pro which features a larger battery and 80-mile range).
It’s also got front suspension, 26″ x 4″ Kenda puncture-resistant fat tires, Tektro Aries MD-M300 disc brakes, and a 7-speed Shimano transmission. Previously, braking performance suffered on this e-bike due to its low-quality stock braking componentry, but in December 2021 Magicycle upgraded the bike to include higher-quality Tektro Aries brakes.
The all-terrain fat tire e-bike market continues to grow more crowded by the day, and the CRUISER package provides riders with the type of bike you’d expect in this price range. It’s competitive with many of the models offered by other electric bicycle companies, but it doesn’t rise to the top of its category when it comes to overall performance and features.
Size and Weight
The Magicycle CRUISER is recommended for riders from 5’5″ to 6’5″ in size. The bike weighs in at 76 pounds and measures 74.8″ long with a 45.67″ wheelbase. To compare it to another popular model in this electric bike category, size-wise it is very close to Himiway’s Cruiser, but Magicycle’s CRUISER weighs 4 pounds more (76 lbs vs. 72 lbs).

Performance and Ride
Like other fat tire e-bikes, Magicycle’s CRUISER is fun to ride on a wide variety of surfaces. Capable of performing well on everything from city streets to trails, the CRUISER offers confidence-inspiring stability, and the beefy tires and front suspension do a nice job of smoothing out bumps and delivering excellent ride comfort when taken off-road (if you’re looking for a bike with front and rear suspension, be sure to check out the new Magicycle Deer). The durability of the included Kenda puncture-resistant tires is top-shelf and they deliver outstanding grip and traction.
The powerful battery and 750W rear hub motor provide plenty of speed and range, and the CRUISER is capable of tackling hilly terrain without a struggle.
Build Quality
The build quality on the CRUISER is decent and Magicycle does a good job of packing the bike well for shipping. It’s important to keep in mind that this bike is competing in the affordable fat tire e-bike category, so the fit and finish naturally won’t match what you’ll find on a much higher-priced model.
The CRUISER arrives mostly assembled, and set up time is minimal thanks to the excellent assembly video provided by Magicycle (see below).
Appearance
As far as looks go, the CRUISER is pretty standard in our book. We’d love to see the addition of a few color options and to be completely honest, we aren’t fans of some of the bikes’ branding (particularly “52V High Energy” which appears on the bike’s downtube).
Included Accessories & Optional Add-ons
Magicycle includes a nice bundle of bonuses with the CRUISER, including a cap, toolkit, front pannier, lock, fenders, rear rack, and front/rear lights. Additionally, the company sells a wide range of optional add-on accessories that make it incredibly easy to upgrade your bike and customize it to your liking.Â
Warranty & Customer Support
As far as warranties go, Magicycle is quite generous with its 2-year warranty coverage. The brand also provides a 15-day money-back guarantee for its customers to ensure that they’re pleased with their bike (you only need to cover the return shipping costs). Many other brands advertise a return policy but when you read the fine print, you’ll often discover that hefty restocking fees are charged on all returns. We’re happy to report that’s not the case here.
In terms of customer service, Magicycle provides several contact options, including live chat, email, and phone support. Whenever we are rating e-bikes, we always test the responsiveness of the manufacturer’s customer support department, and Magicycle left us impressed with a reply to our emailed inquiry in only a few hours…

Final Thoughts
Overall, Magicycle’s CRUISER is a decent option to consider in the sub-$2,000 fat tire e-bike category. While it doesn’t come out on top in terms of features and performance, it’s competitive with other models and has been improved as of late with the addition of upgraded Tektro brakes (we highly recommend checking out Magicycle’s Cruiser Pro if you’re looking for more power, range, and better braking performance).
These fat tire e-bikes are a ton of fun to ride, and Magicycle’s CRUISER is no exception. Capable of handling whatever you throw at it, the CRUISER delivers the extreme versatility that so many riders are searching for these days. If you’re looking for a bike that can get you from point A to point B but is more versatile than a standard commuter bike, the CRUISER is worth checking out.
As mentioned, we are also impressed with Magicycle’s warranty coverage. Whereas most e-bikes include 12 months of warranty coverage, Magicycle provides its customers with a full 2 years of coverage which is a nice plus when it comes to added peace of mind. Also, Magicycle has a generous 15-day return policy and the company doesn’t charge exorbitant restocking fees like many of its competitors.
While not perfect and not the leader of the fat tire e-bike class, this is a versatile and affordable electric bike that you can have a lot of fun cruising around on. Â
