Magicycle Deer Review: E-Bike Overview
The Magicycle Deer is an all-new electric fat bike design, touted as the “SUV of electric bikes.” With a massive amount of power, impressive off-road capabilities, and a comfy full-suspension frame, the Magicycle Deer delivers comfort and all-terrain performance in spades.
The bike rolls on 26″ x 4″ Kenda fat tires, which perform excellently on all surface types — whether you’re riding on muddy trails, sandy beaches, or snow-covered trails, these tires offer a generous contact patch and plenty of traction for the ultimate in control and off-road performance. Compared to traditional bicycle tires, fat tires offer a much more comfortable ride, and the full suspension setup provides upgraded ride comfort when compared to Magicycle’s Cruiser and Cruiser Pro models.
Powered by an impressive 750W rear hub motor that puts out 96Nm of torque and a high-capacity 52V 20Ah LG battery, the Deer can reach 28 mph when unlocked and configured as a Class 3 e-bike. At full power, you’ll enjoy around 80 miles of range on a single charge, and the removable battery can be recharged in 4 to 7 hours. The 750W motor offers plenty of power for climbing steep inclines, and it’s capable of maintaining a 10 or 11-mph top speed during steeper ascents.
Braking power comes from the 180mm front and rear Bengal hydraulic brakes, which deliver next-level stopping power — something that is especially important on a heavy bike like the Deer. Additionally, the bike comes with a very readable color LCD display that supports USB charging for your phone and other small electronic devices.
The Deer comes fitted with a cadence sensor, half-twist throttle, and programmable pedal-assist levels that make it easy to dial in the perfect riding experience. There’s also a “P” model which disables the electronic pedal assistance and allows you to switch over to manual pedaling.
The Magicycle Deer is available in multiple colors and in both step-over and step-through frames. Seniors and riders who suffer from limited mobility are ideal candidates for the step-through option, which is much easier to mount and dismount. The bike is also available in both Off-Road and Touring packages — the Touring Version comes with a large rear rack for hauling cargo and an integrated taillight for increased safety while riding in nighttime conditions.
Size and Weight
As you’d expect of a high-capacity battery, fat tire full suspension e-bike, the Magicycle Deer is a big and heavy bike, weighing in at 92 pounds. It is 78.74″ in length with a 48.4″ wheelbase. The handlebar height is 45.28″ and the seat is adjustable from 28.35″ to 33.46″.

Performance and Ride
The Magicycle Deer takes rides to the next level with its ultra-powerful 750W rear hub motor and a long-range battery. The amount of torque available through the motor is insane — the bike quickly leaps forward with impressive acceleration and the power continues at a hearty pace even when climbing steep hills. It’s a wild ride, yet this bike is incredibly well-balanced and easy to control.
Far from a brute, the Magicycle Deer is a pleasantly well-rounded machine that’s more than capable of handling a wide variety of terrain. Its full suspension setup helps smooth out bumps and the oversized tires boost its abilities in rugged, off-road conditions. Additionally. the included saddle is plenty comfortable to sit on — even during longer rides — and it can be easily adjusted to the rider’s optimal height.
Finally, the Deer is surprisingly easy to ride and very controllable. Delivering top-shelf stability and a smooth, confidence-inspiring ride, this model is sure to become a favorite in the company’s growing lineup of fat tire electric bikes.
Build Quality
The Magicycle Deer is just as well-built as the brand’s other electric bikes, and the company didn’t cut any corners in terms of the construction of this model. The overall build quality of the Deer is excellent, and the included bundle of components is solid. The bike arrives well-packaged from the factory, and assembly is straightforward and easy — making it a great option for riders of all experience levels.
Appearance
The Magicycle Deer is a great-looking ride that screams high performance. This full-suspension rig looks the part, with its fat tires, mudguards, and rugged rear cargo rack. Currently available in three eye-catching colors (Neon Green, Dawn Yellow, and Space Gray), the Deer is a head-turning fatty that gets noticed everywhere it’s ridden.

Magicycle also offers a growing range of e-bike accessories and replacement parts on its website, including bike locks, helmets, cargo baskets, racks, and more.
Warranty & Customer Support
Magicycle is serious about standing behind its electric bicycles, covering each of its rides with a 2-year warranty. This is much better than the typical 1-year warranty that many other e-bike manufacturers provide. In addition, Magicycle offers a generous 15-day return policy to ensure customer satisfaction.

Final Thoughts
I think the Magicycle Deer is an exciting new e-bike to watch out for in 2023. It’s the company’s first full-suspension electric bike, and it really does a great job of providing premium ride comfort and performance at a surprisingly affordable price point.
The Deer’s 750W motor is paired nicely with the high-powered LG battery, giving riders plenty of power, speed, and range for adventures of all types. And just like Magicycle’s other rides, the Deer is incredibly versatile — this bike is a good fit for snowy, winter cruising, beaches, muddy trails — you name it.
While the Deer does come in at a higher price point than the highly popular Cruiser Pro, the premium is justified with what this bike offers in terms of performance and versatility. I believe it offers very good value and compares favorably when stacked up next to other fat tire e-bikes in its class.
And finally, I think Magicycle’s 2-year warranty is a major plus — providing much longer coverage than most other competitors.
All things considered, I think the Magicycle Deer is an ideal option for off-road enthusiasts in search of high performance and versatility at an attractive price point.
