At the time of our review, there are just two models in Meebike's line, but we expect more to come in the near future.

A bike that’s guaranteed to attract attention anywhere it’s ridden, the Meebike Gallop Step-Thru is a seriously cool-looking ride that combines top-shelf build quality, high-quality componentry, and versatile, all-terrain capabilities. Super fun to ride both on and off-road, the Gallop Step-Thru comes equipped with dual suspension and 20″ x 4″ Kenda fat tires that perform well in snow-packed trails, sandy beaches, mud, and more.
With its comfortable step-through frame design, the Gallop Step-Thru is an ideal choice for shorter riders and those who suffer from limited mobility. Incredibly easy to mount and dismount, the Gallop Step-Thru is fitted with a firm-yet-comfy seat that provides an enjoyable riding experience, even during long-distance adventures.
The bike’s powerful 750W rear wheel hub motor provides 85Nm of torque and 1000W of peak output, and the high-capacity 48V 20Ah battery delivers up to 80 miles of range per charge. The Gallop Step-Thru’s Samsung/LG lithium-ion battery is removable and recharges fully in 4 to 6 hours.
Meebike also includes a SHIMANO drivetrain and shifters, torque sensor, 5 pedal-assist modes, and a 3″ full-color TFT LCD display.
Like most fat tire electric bikes, the Gallop Step-Thru is a bit on the heavy side, and we’re glad that Meebike opted to go with hydraulic brakes on this model. Equipped with 180mm Logan hydraulic disc brakes, the Gallop Step-Thru provides riders with plenty of stopping power, making the bike easy to control even during steep descents.
The bike also comes with an oversized LED headlight and there’s a rear taillight for added safety and nighttime visibility.
Size and Weight
Like the Meebike Gallop, the Step-Thru version weighs in at 72 pounds. The total length of the bike is 72 inches and it has a wheelbase of 47 inches. While the regular Gallop is designed for riders who are 5’4″ to 6’3″, the Gallop Step-Thru is built with shorter riders in mind and is optimized for individuals who are 5’1″ to 5’9″.

Performance and Ride
As mentioned, Meetbike’s Gallop Step-Thru is a comfortable e-bike that packs plenty of torque for hill climbing and navigating rough conditions. The dual suspension setup does a great job of absorbing bumps and the fat tires provide the grip and added stability needed for riding on sand, snow, muddy trails, and loose gravel.
The SHIMANO gearing and torque sensor provide smooth shifting and predictable power delivery, although the top speed of this model underwhelms when riding in pedal-assist mode. You’ll find it easier to hit the 20mph maximum speed rating of this Class 2 e-bike when riding in throttle mode.
Lastly, the Gallop Step-Thru offers riders a comfy riding position and we like the adjustable BMX-style handlebars.
Build Quality
The Meebike Gallop Step-Thru arrives mostly assembled from the factory, and the build quality is excellent overall. The bike arrives well-packaged, and the bundled components are all very nice. For a startup, Meebike seems to be doing a great job with quality control, and the brand seems committed to standing behind the bikes they make.
Appearance
The Meebike Gallop Step-Thru is a really nice-looking bike, with its vintage motorcycle styling, mag wheels, oversized front headlight, and massive Kenda tires. This eye-catching, retro-inspired ride attracts serious attention, and the full suspension setup and rear cargo rack instantly tell you that this bike means business.
While the white paint finish is nicely done, we would like to see additional color options available in the future. Being that Meebike is a new startup, we anticipate that additional colors will be added in the not-too-distant future.
