Meebike Gallop Review: E-Bike Overview
The Meebike Gallop is a fun fat tire e-bike that’s perfect for riders who are searching for a uniquely designed, well-performing set of wheels. Whether you’re cruising around the city or embarking on a rugged, off-road excursion, the Gallop’s full suspension setup and massive Kenda fat tires get you where you need to go in comfort and style.
Powered by a beefy 750W rear hub motor and 48V 20Ah high-capacity battery, the Gallop is capable of hitting speeds of around 20mph and can cruise for up to 80 miles on a single charge. The Gallop’s powerful motor allows for quick acceleration and climbs hills with ease, although the pedal-assist modes don’t quite deliver the amount of speed that we expect to see on a bike in this price range. Making use of the Gallop’s throttle remedies this, however, and the onboard torque sensor and SHIMANO gears provide a smooth and predictable ride.
The Gallop’s 3-inch full-color TFT LCD screen is easy to read, and there’s also an LED headlight and taillight for improved nighttime visibility.
Meebike fitted the Gallop with adjustable BMX-style handlebars, and the riding position is comfortable even for longer distance cruising.
Located at the rear of the bike is a small cargo rack that provides just enough space for a bag or backpack, and there are front and rear fenders to shield the rider from road spray, sand, and small rocks.

The Meebike Gallop is a heavy-duty, built-to-last bike that weighs in at 72 lbs. It measures 72 inches long and has a 47-inch wheelbase. The Gallop is ideal for riders between 5’4″ and 6’3″, and it has a 43-inch standover height.

Performance and Ride
The ride quality of the Meebike Gallop is fantastic. A versatile e-bike that performs well on everything from pavement to off-road trails, the Gallop provides a stable, comfy riding experience.
The front and rear suspension do a great job of absorbing bumps and the 20″ x 4″ Kenda tires provide plenty of grip for tackling all-terrain surfaces. The Gallop’s fat tires also give you a leg up when riding on sandy beaches, snow, mud, and gravel, substantially outperforming traditional bicycle tires.
The bike’s 750W rear hub motor delivers plenty of torque and the top speed of this Class 2 e-bike can be bumped from 20mph to 28mph by unlocking it. The Gallop’s top speed does underwhelm a bit when riding in pedal-assist mode, falling a bit short of the Meebike’s reported 20mph top speed spec, but the throttle-only mode provides an added boost for those times when more speed is needed.
Additionally, the Gallop’s torque sensor provides smooth and responsive power delivery and the overall handling and stability of the bike are outstanding, even when pedaling through tight corners. We also like the adjustable BMX-style handlebars, which are paired with the bike’s frame geometry to offer a comfy riding position.
Lastly, while the included saddle is on the firm side, it’s comfortable to sit on, even during long-distance rides.
Build Quality
While Meebike is a new name in the electric bike world, the young startup is doing a good job thus far in terms of build quality. The Gallop features solid build quality and high-quality componentry. The bike arrives well-packed and the assembly performed at Meebike’s factory is professionally done.
Appearance
A head-turning, retro-inspired electric bike with a classic old-school aesthetic, the Meebike Gallop features a vintage motocross vibe and is a guaranteed attention-getter wherever it’s ridden. The unique frame design, mag wheels, beefy tires, and massive front headlight add to this ride’s eye-catching look, giving it a cool, modern appearance that will appeal to a large number of riders.
Despite its striking good looks, there is one thing that we’d love to see offered in the future — additional color options. At the moment, the Gallop is only available in black (unless you opt for the white Gallop Step-Thru model).
