Founded in 2019 by Bruce Yu, HOVSCO is a fairly recent e-bike startup that has quickly developed a nice range of affordable electric bikes designed for trail riding, city commutes, off-road exploration, and more. For 2023, HOVSCO’s range includes several step-through frame models, fat tire e-bikes, city commuters, eMTB, and a folding model that’s super easy to transport and store.
HOVSCO’s bike lineup offers a lot of versatility, and its bikes can be enjoyed on city streets, mountain trails, the backcountry, and more. Well-equipped with durable 6061 aluminum alloy step-over and step-through frames, upgraded brushless gear hub motors, high-quality batteries, Shimano 7-speed shifters, and more, HOVSCO electric bikes are reasonably priced and deliver solid value.
We also appreciate the attractive styling of the bikes in HOVSCO’s range, and they come with neatly-integrated batteries, head-turning color options, and smooth welding for a premium look.
In addition to its 2023 lineup of 6 electric bikes, HOVSCO also sells a small range of accessories, including racks, cargo baskets, fenders, and more.
All HOVSCO e-bikes are backed by a 2-year warranty which covers the frame, battery, and motor. All other componentry is covered for a period of 3 months to 1 year.

Warranty & Customer Service
HOVSCO electric bicycles come with a 2-year warranty which covers defects in the manufacturing process as well as materials. The 2-year coverage applies to both the motor and the battery, while the components are covered anywhere from 3 months to 1 year. Additionally, HOVSCO also offers customers a 15-day return policy for added peace of mind, although a $150 return shipping fee and 8% restocking fee apply.

Extremely well-packaged…
I purchased the Hovalpha step through. The bike was extremely well-packaged. The only issue was the rear brakes. They had not been purged of air, so the brake on the rear had to be bled. At their suggestion, we tried bringing the bike to a local repair shop. They offered to help but wanted me to leave the bike for 2 weeks. I had just had surgery on my right leg due to a blood clot. So I needed to ride the bike there and then back to my home. The Hovsco service representative was very supportive. In fact, they allowed me to bleed the brakes. Thank you for all the help!
A great product…
I have test ridden the HOVSCO mountain bike. It was excellent. Balance and control was solid. Very easy to use all motor options. I’ve test ridden bikes from the following manufacturers: BMW, Trek, Vintage, Aventon and custom bike conversions.
Overall, the HOVSCO was better than the rest: acceleration, torque, stability and braking. The list price is very fair and appreciated. In speaking with a local dealer: he claimed he has tested and abused the HOVSCO in order to see how well it is built and to determine future weaknesses or repairs he will have to perform for his customers that purchase a HOVSCO from him. He states that this brand is very strong and so well built that he preferentially sells this product over other brands his store offers.
A great product that I will likely purchase over the next year.
