G-FORCE ZM Review: Electric Bike Overview
The G-FORCE ZM fat tire electric bike is a handsome, retro-styled ride with a vintage vibe. Equally fun for city cruising and light trail duty, the ZM is practical, versatile, and a blast to ride.
Designed to perform well for a wide variety of recreational activities, the ZM can be used for daily commuting, around-town errand running, off-road backcountry adventures, and more. The powerful BAFANG 750W rear hub motor puts out an impressive 86Nm of torque and 1300W of peak power which makes getting from point A to point B a breeze.
Like the G-FORCE ZF, the ZM comes in two different versions: a lower-priced base model that’s configured with a 48V 13.5Ah battery pack, and an upgraded version that’s fitted with a 48V 20Ah battery. Depending on the setup, the ZM can deliver a max range of 60 to 80 miles, while speed tops out at around 28mph.
The lithium-ion battery is neatly integrated into the bike’s design with its stealthy, fuel tank aesthetic, and it can be removed and locked with the included key.
The ZM comes with pedal-assist mode and there’s a right-hand half-twist throttle for throttle-only riding. Also up front is a full-color LCD display that supports USB charging, and a horn button for safety.
The bike ships with a super bright 48V headlight and integrated rear taillight for nighttime safety, and the front and rear fenders keep the rider clean and dry in wet conditions.
The ZM is a full-suspension ride, and the front fork suspension is adjustable with 110mm of travel. The rear suspension setup is non-adjustable but should provide decent ride comfort for the vast majority of riders.
Lastly, stopping power is provided by 160mm hydraulic disc brakes.
Size and Weight
A heavy bike, the G-FORCE ZM weighs in at a hefty 85 lbs and can support a maximum payload capacity of up to 400 lbs. This bike is optimized for riders between 5’3″ and 6’5″, and it has a seat height of 35″ (keep in mind that the seat is not adjustable). The total length of the bike is 70.5″ and it has a 48″ wheelbase.

Performance and Ride
We give the ZM high marks when it comes to performance and overall ride quality. The bike handles well and offers plenty of comfort, thanks to the chunky tires and full suspension setup.
The ZM’s bench-style seat is firm yet comfy, and there’s ample room on the back for a passenger. We would have liked to see foot pegs added at the rear wheel for those times when you’re bringing along a friend.
This is an easy-to-ride bike that provides good stability, and the 750W BAFANG motor gives it plenty of punch for hill-climbing and challenging terrain.
Last but not least, the included 160mm hydraulic brakes work reasonably well, but we would have preferred larger 180mm rotors given the bike’s hefty weight.
Build Quality
G-FORCE makes well-built e-bikes and the ZM is no exception. The bike is nicely put together and features top-notch componentry and materials. It also arrives well-packed from the factory and is mostly assembled, requiring minimal work on the part of the customer to get it up and running.
Appearance
The ZM is a very stylish ride, and the eye-catching design generates lots of comments wherever it’s ridden. This is an e-bike that delivers a hefty dose of flair, and the vintage moto vibe really ticks all of the boxes when it comes to the overall cool factor.
Included Accessories & Optional Add-ons
In the box, you’ll find front and rear mudguards, a charger, an assembly tool, 48V headlight, and battery keys. G-FORCE also sells a nice range of accessory upgrades including rearview mirrors, electric air pumps, helmets, bike locks, and more.
Warranty & Customer Support
As mentioned, G-FORCE stands behind every e-bike it makes with a 1-year warranty which is fairly standard when it comes to consumer-direct e-bike brands. The company also has a 14-day return policy although a huge 25% restocking fee and return shipping costs are charged on all returns.
Also, part of the e-bike reviews process at Recharged Rides is interacting with the brands we deal with to gauge the responsiveness of each company’s customer support department. We’re pleased to report that our emails to the company have been answered with same-day replies, and the company offers multiple contact options, including phone, email, and a form on the company’s website…

Final Thoughts
The perfect ride for anyone who is looking for something a little hipper than the standard, run-of-the-mill electric bicycle, the G-FORCE ZM is currently our favorite model in the brand’s 2023 lineup. With its unique styling, great build quality, and a solid bundle of components, the ZM is an enjoyable, well-rounded e-bike that’s priced well and built to last.
Having said that, this bike isn’t perfect and there are a few things that we’d like to see improved in the second-generation model, namely the addition of rear foot pegs and a bump up in braking power to 180mm rotors.
All things considered, the ZM is a fantastic ride that looks great and performs well to boot. A more affordable option than other trendy, moto-styled e-bikes, G-FORCE’s ZM is a fun, versatile model that’ll work for everything from everyday commuting to light, off-road duty.
