Founded by Jason Lu and James Zhao in 2017, HIMO is a Shenzhen, China-based micromobility brand that sells a growing range of beautifully-designed e-bikes and electric scooters. With a goal of providing the highest quality PEVs at prices that anyone can afford, HIMO’s innovative brand continues to increase in popularity.
For 2023, HIMO’s electric bike range features 9 models, ranging from 180W to 250W. While the company’s primary focus is on ultra-portable, folding e-bikes, HIMO also sells a few full-size urban commuters and an eMTB. Like most factory-direct electric bike companies, HIMO includes a 1-year warranty with each of its electric bikes. The warranty provides coverage in the event of a manufacturer defect, and returns are also accepted for 30 days (although an $80 return shipping fee and 10% processing fee apply).

Solid and comfortable…
HIMO C30R – My first E-bike I’ve ridden. I’m 99kg and 185cm and this bike feels very solid and comfortable to ride. It only has the Shimano sora rear derailleur, so the gears are quite easy to use.
The 250w rear hub motor pulls my weight up fairly steep hills and keeps me at a constant speed of 25km/h, even with a strong head wind. I love the design of this bike and for the price there’s nothing else around that looks as cool, especially with the in-frame battery design. The display is nice and keeps track of your trip, with an ongoing odometer. The instructions were a bit bland with how to use it, but I worked out if you hold down the + and – button at once it clears the trip stats.
I actually got a store display one for fairly cheap AU$1500 but it was missing the mud guard support wires, which I didn’t mind because I was never gonna use the guards.
Battery is very decent, I did a 25km ride and only used 30% of the battery, I very much only do 30km rides at the most on a normal road bike, but I feel as if I could ride a lot further on this, with the motor taking hard work out of riding. I still feel like I got decent exercise though as I usually keep more to a 30km/h speed.
Only thing I think they could have incorporated into this bike is a brake light and blinkers, maybe.
