Heybike Electric Bikes Review (2023): Affordable E-Bike Range

We have 2 Cityrun Heybikes. They are great for riding! I’m surprised at the low ratings I’ve seen? We ride an average of 25 miles a trip, at parks, paved trails, in and around town. I see over 20mph at times depending on charge level. The gears are smooth. The bikes are comfortable. Easy to program. Has an app and follow me app map. Front suspension is quite helpful with road conditions. I took mine to a professional bike shop and had them dialed in, and that really made a difference as well. We’ve ridden eBikes in The Netherlands, Portugal and US. We like these Heybikes!

I loved my bike 2hen I first got it but when I got an error 21 message and no help as to where to begin repairs, I made a vow to not buy another bike from Heybike. They don’t seem to have any record of my buying my cityscape and seems like possible replacement parts are not available to buy so can’t even try to fix my bike shops around me won’t work on it due to their not carrying the brand so what to do I give the customer service a F-

Nice looking bike that came with stripped threads in stem; sent replacement; display is malfunctioning and I get no answer. It looks good, just have had it two weeks and still can’t ride… might want to look at more established companies as these folks seem inconsistent in build quality and customer service — not happy at all.

I love my Heybike and once I learned how to ride it I was good. Just one comment. Please show older people riding them and explain that if you are under 5’3”. It is too tall. I am 5’4” and the seat is as low as I can get. I have a Ranger but I love the step through. Great bike to ride and I am almost 70.

The Heybike Mars, I feel, is sharp looking, well designed, and built. It arrived well packaged and took me less than 20 minutes to unbox and have completely set up. It comes with all the tools needed to do the setup.

Though it weighs in at 66 pounds, I found that I could fold it in half and manage to fit it into my Geo Metro trunk without too much of a problem.

I have changed the number of PAS (pedal assist) settings from 0-3 to 0-5 to suit my riding style. The Heybike Mars is comfortable to ride with the front suspension forks and the suspension seat post coupled with the big 4 inch fat tires. I rode 80 miles on it in a mere 10 days.

For those that complained about no serial number and not being able to insure the bike. The serial number is located on the bottom of the peddle shaft housing. You need to turn the bike upside down to read the serial number which is stamped into the metal frame. The insurance for full replacement value was under $125 for a year’s coverage.

On the two occasions, I needed to contact customer service, not related to any eBike issue. I had a response within 24 hours via email. Except on the weekend. Overall, I found their customer service pleasant and helpful.

I am pleased with my HeyBike Mars and would indeed recommend it to anyone that wants an affordable, rugged, and reliable eBike. The HeyBike Mars should provide many hours of fun riding and even some good exercise, too.

Bought a CityRun in Oct 2022. Front fork tower kept coming loose. Finally had to bring it to a dealer 2 hrs from my home. Problems with rear hydraulic brake. Bleeding it multiple times, including by the repair shop. Still have issues. But worst experience with this company is their customer service. It does not exist. Email only. Multiple days / weeks to get a response from someone named Celia who says a technician will follow up. Never happened. Don’t buy Heybike.

This is a very well-made ebike, at a reasonable price.

Pay close attention to their return policy. It is high and unreasonable. You will be charged $200/bike even if you don’t accept the delivery. Any part you need has very high shipping charges. The bikes might be good. We don’t know because we realized in time.

I purchased two Hey Bike Mars for Christmas and both bikes are missing the serial numbers. It looks like parts were substituted and welded to fit the handle bars on both bikes. I contacted customer support and they state they have no idea how this happened. They did verify I purchased from their website and confirmed it is their product I purchased. I now have two bikes, each costing over $1000 and have no serial numbers. Can’t register them and cannot insure them. The police station even asked if they had been purchased off Craigslist because there’s no numbers to verify I am th owner. It will be Bye Bike if they’re stolen.

I’m only gonna give a 4 star review because the bike I received was overall a great bike! The front fender came in bent so it looks very weird and off centered with the wheel. The only issue I have with the delivery is that we ordered a front basket for the bike and never received it. Other than that the bike works amazing, super smooth ride and very fun to take out.
