Bakcou Storm Review: E-Bike Overview
Billed as the ultimate ride for hunters, anglers, and serious outdoor enthusiasts who need access to rugged, tough-to-reach backcountry spots, the popular Bakcou Storm is a high-end fat tire hunting e-bike that packs power, performance, and top-quality features into one great-looking package.
Powered by a 750-watt/1000-watt powerful mid-drive motor that puts out 1500W of max power output and 160Nm of torque, the Storm delivers an impressive top speed, torque, and power off-the-line. Able to climb steep hills and tackle gnarly, rocky descents without breaking a sweat, this fully loaded electric fat bike can handle anything you throw at it.
We always love the fact that Bakcou provides customers with plenty of options, and the Storm is no exception. This bike can be ordered in five different colors (Matte Black, Matte Army Green, Matte Desert Tan, Matte Cavalry Blue, and Kryptek Altitude), two different frame sizes (17-inch and 19-inch), and in four battery configurations (17.5, 192.Ah, 21Ah, and 25Ah). Additionally, Bakcou sells a nice range of e-bike accessories and the Storm provides hunters with a platform that’s very easy to customize to each use case.
Stopping power is provided by 203mm Tektro HD-E750 hydraulic disc brakes which do an amazing job of keeping this big, heavy bike under control. The bike’s front and rear suspension handle bumps and rough terrain well, and the huge MAXXIS fat tires perform well in mud, gravel, grass, snow, and sand.
The Storm’s 9-speed SRAM drivetrain is super smooth and the wide 740mm handlebars contribute nicely to the bike’s outstanding overall stability.
With its 70-pound weight (without battery), the Bakcou Storm is one huge bike. Depending on the battery configuration selected, the total weight of this e-bike can exceed 82 lbs. As mentioned, Bakcou offers the Storm in both 17″ and 19″ versions — the smaller configuration is recommended for riders who are 5’7″ to 5’10”, while the larger bike is best for individuals who are 5’10” and taller.

The Bakcou Storm is a huge, imposing ride that’s guaranteed to turn heads. Not for the faint of heart, the Storm’s tough appearance and oversized tires demand attention wherever it’s ridden. The Storm’s aggressive appearance is complemented nicely by the bundled accessories, such as the rear rack and full suspension setup, and all of the color options are attractive and very well done in our opinion.
The Bakcou Storm ships with a rear pannier rack, mud fenders, and a 4.0 A smart charger. Of course, the company also sells a wide range of replacement parts and accessories, including hunting trailers, batteries, chargers, racks, and more.
Bakcou is a brand that prides itself on being transparent, and we appreciate that as far as warranties go, the company stands behind everything it manufactures. In addition to offering a 1-year warranty, the company also offers 30 days to return purchases. It’s important to note that Bakcou will charge a 15% restocking fee on any return, and customers are also responsible for all return shipping costs (which are expensive on big bikes like this).
Bakcou is super easy to reach, and the company’s customer support staff is very quick to respond in our experience.
